Sassy Seafood was established in 2009 by two commercial fishing families hailing from the Pacific Northwest and the homeport of Westport, Washington. Our goals embrace harvesting and distributing wild, certified and sustainable seafood that has been harvested using only responsible methods from healthy, viable West Coast Fisheries while educating consumers about the importance of the commercial fishing industry. We pride ourselves on owning and operating the very vessels which do the harvesting of our products. This ensures that the quality of our products, are of the highest standard. It also guarantees that our seafood is completely traceable, making it our privilege to provide you with the finest quality of fish, harvested from off our hooks and put directly into your hands and onto your plate. For us here at Sassy Seafood, we refer to this as the “Boat to Belly” concept.
We are incredibly proud to let consumers know that both of our vessels, and West coast albacore fishery are certified sustainable and deemed healthy by the Marine Stewardship Council (MSC) and that every one of Our albacore tuna products carries the Wild Pacific Albacore Certification. Our products also earn a “Best Choice” rating by the Monterey Bay Aquarium Seafood Watch Program and we endorse the NOAA Fish Watch Program when educating consumers about wild, certified, sustainable seafood.
